The Heart of a Wildcat was launched this year to highlight the remarkable character displayed by our 7-12th grade students throughout the building. Below are some of the nominations! "Hailey N demonstrates a leader, someone who is involved, is very nice to everyone, tries extra hard on her school work, and strives to be a good person every day." "Jenna is always saying positive affirmations in the hallway at anyone she sees. She is always willing to help everyone and anyone, she is also very good at motivating others with her words." "Gracie is a kind person who can make anyone laugh, always smiling, and is very involved in school activities. She is the definition of a great person." "Hailey T is always kind and likes to include people in everything she does." "Skyylar went out of her way to help an elementary student feel better on a bad day. She shared a personal item so this student could rest comfortably. She is a wonderful example of a Wildcat and goes above and beyond to make every Wildcat feel special and taken care of." "Grayson consistently shows positivity and kindness. He is kind and respectful to everyone he comes across. He is responsible and shows the positive traits of the true heart of a Wildcat." "Emma is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. She's always on task but has time to smile and have fun." Keep up the great work, Wildcats! 🐾

Reading Month Excitement!

The fourth graders participated in an Iditarod banquet yesterday! We honored the mushers that are racing in the 2025 Iditarod. We also enjoyed a breakfast as a class! We're looking forward to seeing how the mushers do this year in this great race!

Congratulations to all the students that participated in the Acalympics today at North Shore Plaza. Surrey and Burke County will move on to State. Congratulations everyone.

Just 3 weeks left until the Missoula Children's Theatre arrives at North Shore Plaza school! The excitement builds as we prepare for auditions on March 24 and performances on March 28 and 29th. Fun fact: Students involved in theatre often showcase improved academic performance! 47 Wildcats have signed up so far; there's still room for more!

Huge congrats to Grace for taking 3rd in Persuade, Kassy for 5th in Humorous, and Martin & Kassy for 6th in Serious Duo! Way to shine! ✨🎭 #SpeechTeam #PublicSpeaking #HardWorkPaysOff

The fifth grade Wildcats have been studying ND wheat production. We learned that ND farmers raise 2/3 of all the durum and 1/2 of all the hard red spring wheat grown in the United States. Today we used local honey and wheat to make bread with NDSU Extensions! The kids said it tasted better than any other bread they've had because they put extra love in it! Thanks to our parent volunteers and to National Hard Spring Wheat Show for sponsoring our bread making supplies!

The kindergarten and 4th grade buddies are getting ready for the month of March and Spring. We did a collaborative art project with 25 unique squares💕🐾

NSP is looking for 7/8 grade girls' volleyball coaches for the 2025 season. Please contact Mrs. Gerding @ 701.497.3734

Second graders enjoy Mrs. Peterson's music class! One of their favorite activities is bucket drumming! They love drumming to different types of music and learning rhythm.

🚨 MathCounts Competition Cancelled 🚨
Through no fault of our own, today's MathCounts competition was unfortunately canceled. But that didn’t stop us from celebrating all the hard work our team put into preparing! 🎉🍦
Instead, we turned disappointment into something sweet—an ice cream party! Huge shoutout to our amazing team for their dedication and effort. We’re so proud of you all! 💪📐

Mary Reiser came in from the American Heart Association and helped kick off the Kids Heart Challenge with Mr. O'Shea. Students will now raise money for the KHC with a lot of incentives tied to it. If you would like to donate to a great cause to help kids with special hearts, please go to:

🌟 Excitement is building! Just 4 weeks until the Missoula Children's Theatre comes to North Shore Plaza ! 🎭 Tryouts for Hansel and Gretel are on March 24, and performances will light up the stage on March 28 & 29! A sign up letter will go home the oldest elementary student in the family. High school students can get one from Mrs. Rynstad. Please return them as soon as possible.
Fun fact: Participating in theatre helps students boost their confidence and teamwork skills! Are you ready to join the fun? 🎉

NSP: Due to the high number of students participating and the limited bus space available, **there will NOT be a bus provided for transportation to Hunter's Safety.**

Congrats to Martin for finishing 5th in impromptu! Your quick thinking and sharp skills shined. Way to go! #SpeechSuccess #WellDeserved 🎉👏
