Starting October 21st, we are tweaking our Wildcat Time (homeroom) to maximize its effectiveness and provide targeted support for student learning. Our initial focus will be on helping students in areas where they need academic assistance and ensuring they have time to complete assignments.
To promote literacy growth, students in grades 7-10 will participate in Silent Sustained Reading (SSR) if they do not have any missing homework. We encourage them to bring a book or reading material of their choice, though we will provide resources as needed.
Juniors will focus on ACT and ASVAB preparation, equipping them for these important assessments. As we refine this process, we plan to extend ACT preparation to sophomores to further enhance their readiness. Each day of the week will be dedicated to a specific subject area, allowing students to receive focused support in key content areas. We will utilize RUReady and IXL to offer personalized learning pathways, giving students the tools they need to succeed. While we are committed to providing time, resources, and structure, student engagement will be the key to success—what they put into it will determine what they gain.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping our Wildcats reach their full potential.
