The 7th grade STEM class is working with robots. Robotics is going to be large portion of jobs and there are always new applications of it in the future. The future of robotics is tremendous with drones, driverless cars, and applications to help people. The 7th grade STEM class is working on how to start up a robot that works like a crane. Their job is to learn how to manipulate this properly and to program it to do simple tasks. They will have to move film canisters with weights and learn how to stack film canisters on top of one another. The 7th graders will learn how to program the robot to accomplish a task automatically. We will be have competitions on who can operate the robot the fastest to accomplish a task. When finished with the robots, 7th grade students will have to design a prototype hand that will have to use to accomplish a task: grasp a door or pick up an empty pop can.
